Say Goodbye to Unwanted Hair!

Revolutionizing your Skin

At Fountain, we are proud to offer laser hair reduction using the advanced Prowave system, which operates at wavelengths between 680-1100nm. This innovative technology provides a safe and effective solution for achieving long-lasting hair removal on various body areas.

How It Works

Prowave laser hair reduction targets hair follicles with precision laser energy. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, which heats the follicle and inhibits future hair growth. The treatment is designed to be quick and comfortable, allowing for effective hair reduction without damaging the surrounding skin. Multiple wavelengths allow the Prowave system to treat a wide range of skin types and hair colors.

Ideal Candidates

Laser hair reduction with Prowave is suitable for a variety of candidates, including those looking to eliminate unwanted hair from:

  • Legs
  • Arms
  • Underarms
  • Bikini area
  • Face

Ideal candidates typically have darker hair and lighter skin, as the contrast allows for more effective targeting of the hair follicles. However, advances in laser technology have made it possible to treat a wider range of skin tones and hair colors. During your consultation, our experienced providers will assess your specific needs and determine the best approach for you.

Recommended Treatment Plan

For optimal results, we recommend a series of at least 6 treatments. This is because hair grows in different cycles, and multiple sessions are needed to target hair in the active growth phase. Treatments are generally scheduled 6-8 weeks apart, depending on the area being treated and individual hair growth patterns.

Why Choose XEO + Laser?

Minimal Discomfort: Many clients report minimal discomfort during procedures, often comparing the sensation to a gentle snap of a rubber band.

Before & After

Preparing for your laser treatment

To ensure optimal results and minimize risks, follow these preparation guidelines:

Avoid Sun Exposure: Limit sun exposure for at least two weeks before your treatment. This helps reduce the risk of complications and enhances treatment effectiveness.

No Tanning Products: Refrain from using tanning beds or self-tanning products in the weeks leading up to your session.

Avoid Certain Medications: Consult with your provider about any medications you may be taking, particularly blood thinners or anti-inflammatory drugs. At Fountain, our laser provider has over 5 years of experience in the field and has trained at the National Laser Institute. You can trust that your treatment will be conducted with the highest level of expertise and care.

Aftercare Instructions

Post-treatment care is essential for achieving the best results. Here are some key steps:

Sun Protection: Use broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin from UV rays. This is crucial for maintaining results and preventing pigmentation changes.

Avoid Heat: Refrain from hot showers, saunas, or strenuous exercise for at least 24 hours after your treatment to minimize irritation.

Follow-Up Care: Follow any specific aftercare instructions provided by your laser technician, and attend follow-up appointments as necessary to monitor your progress.

What to Know Before You Start Laser Hair Reduction

Laser hair reduction is one of the most practical investments in aesthetic medicine — not because it’s dramatic, but because the time it gives back accumulates every single day. Before you book, here’s what’s worth understanding.

On “reduction” versus “removal”:

You’ll notice we say laser hair reduction rather than laser hair removal — and that’s intentional. Laser treatment permanently damages the hair follicles it targets, and most patients achieve 80–90% reduction in hair growth in treated areas. For the vast majority of people that means smooth skin with minimal to no maintenance shaving. A small amount of finer, lighter regrowth is possible over time for some patients, and occasional touch-up sessions can address that. The honest answer is that results are long-lasting and for most people effectively permanent — but “reduction” is the accurate term and we use it that way.

On candidacy — hair color and skin tone:

Laser hair reduction works by targeting the pigment in the hair follicle. The greater the contrast between hair color and skin tone, the more precisely the laser can target the follicle without affecting the surrounding skin. Traditionally this meant the best candidates had dark hair and light skin — and that remains true for the most straightforward results.

The Prowave system’s multiple wavelengths have expanded the range of treatable skin tones and hair colors considerably. Patients with medium to darker skin tones can be treated safely with the right settings and an experienced provider. Gray, white, blonde, and very fine hair remain difficult to treat with any laser system — the lack of pigment means there’s nothing for the laser to target. Your consultation will give you an honest assessment of what results are realistic for your specific hair and skin combination.

On the series commitment:

Hair grows in cycles, and laser treatment is only effective on follicles in the active growth phase. At any given time, only a portion of your hair is in that phase — which is why a single session, even a perfect one, can’t treat everything. A series of at least six sessions spaced six to eight weeks apart is recommended to catch each follicle across multiple growth cycles. Spacing matters as much as number of sessions. Patients who complete the full series consistently see significantly better results than those who stop early.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most patients describe the sensation as a quick snap or mild heat — often compared to a rubber band against the skin. The Prowave system is designed for comfort, and the treatment moves quickly across the area being treated. Sensation varies by body area — the bikini line and upper lip tend to be more sensitive than the legs or arms. Most patients find it very manageable, and any discomfort resolves immediately after each pulse. If you’re concerned about sensitivity in a particular area, mention it at your consultation.

Redness and mild warmth in the treated area immediately after your session are normal and typically resolve within a few hours. Some patients experience temporary sensitivity or slight swelling, particularly in more delicate areas. These are short-lived and expected. More significant reactions — blistering, pigment changes — are uncommon when treatment is performed correctly and pre-treatment guidelines are followed. Sun exposure before and after treatment is the most common factor in complications, which is why sun avoidance and SPF in the weeks around your sessions are non-negotiable.

Yes — and you should. Shaving the treatment area the day before your appointment is recommended. The laser targets the follicle beneath the skin’s surface, not the hair above it, so surface hair doesn’t need to be present. What you should absolutely avoid before treatment is waxing, threading, or plucking — these remove the follicle itself, leaving nothing for the laser to target. Shaving is fine; anything that pulls hair from the root is not, for at least four to six weeks before your session.

After each session you’ll notice shedding of treated hairs over the following one to three weeks — this is the treated follicles releasing hair as they go dormant. It can look like regrowth at first but is actually the treatment working. Progressive reduction becomes more noticeable after each session, with the most significant results typically visible after sessions three through six. Full results are assessed after the complete series, at which point most patients have achieved smooth, low-maintenance skin in the treated areas.

At-home devices use significantly lower energy levels than professional systems — a safety requirement for consumer products that also means meaningfully less effectiveness. Professional laser systems like the Prowave deliver precise, clinical-grade energy that targets the follicle at the depth required for permanent damage. At-home devices can reduce hair temporarily but rarely achieve the lasting follicle damage that professional treatment does. They also lack the wavelength range to treat varying skin tones safely. If you’ve tried an at-home device without satisfying results, professional treatment is a genuinely different experience.
